My recycle bin icon has disappeared from my desktop. The few things I delete go away but I do not know where to. I would like to recreate it on the desktop, any ideas how I can achieve this please?

>> any good: support.microsoft.com/kb/810869
Note that the page has a 'Fix it' button that will fix the problem automatically, allegedly...
EDIT: although it's for XP/Vista; which OS?

In Vista, right clicl on the desktop, select personalise, in new screen got to top left hand side and click on 'ghange desk top icons.
Restore tick in recycle bin box and click apply.

Problems solved, my thanks to all of you. System restore wasn't going to work as the Bin has been missing for weeks. I am on Vista and PDA gave me an answer which worked a treat. Job Done.
