I've just received an email in which the "Subject" line was blank. Whenever I've tried to send an email without a "Subject" it wouldn't go. What't the reason for the difference?

It depends on what email client you use. I can send emails without a subject, It asks me if that's what I intended to do, and if I say yes, - off it goes.
