 which mouse - legacylad
i’ve not had a working laptop or desk top for several years, and just bought a 2020/21 Mac Book Air 13” with two Thunderbolt /USB 4 ports.

previously i’ve preferred using a mouse to the pad, so any recommendations please for either wired or wireless ? Nothing fancy, just a cheap reliable mouse…would a wireless Logitech M350 @ £14 do the job ok please ? No gaming or creativity stuff, just web browsing and similar.

Do you think you would tend to use the Mac plugged in, or using the battery only? If plugged in, connecting it to a docking station might be the best solution, then you can connect a mouse to that, either wired or via a wireless USB dongle. Mine is connected to a Baseus Spacemate docking station, which lets me then connect two displays.

probably battery only…I don’t spend long looking at a screen.

I've had a couple of logitechs. current one is an M220. Plugged into a KVM switch as I use same screen, keyboard etc with work laptop and my own PC.

The first one lost it's slippery feet but was still useable. 8 hours on work shift for three days a week constantly using mouse so no complaints in terms of how it lasted.

Using a regular mouse on a mac means you lose a lot of functionality. In fact they are next to useless on a mac.

I would strongly urge you to learn to use and exploit the macbook pad fully, or buy an Apple magic mouse.

I use a wireless HP mouse with my laptop and a wireless Logitech mouse with my PC.

Both rodents are quite old but work purrfectly well.

Have you lot seen the ads for so-called 'gaming' mice?

I was given, Xmas present, a Logitech Mouse about 7+ years ago - at the time it was around £80/£90.

It failed about 2 years ago, re-furbishing estimate was to cost about the same as my replacement Logi mouse.
Bought Logi (Logitech's new name) MX Anywhere 2S for around £35 on-line (Clearance of old model). Brilliant - does everything I need and best of all the battery charges quickly and last for many weeks.

Logi MXAnywhere 3S is the newer model

Son has a upgrade on my Logi mouse (MX4? over £100 even on offers) for a work laptop.
His house is overflowing with Apple boxes, Only Apple mice used - iMac, MacBooks, iPads. Parents & 2 student daughters

I use a vertical mouse, which I find much more comfortable than the standard kind. I also use a mouse mat with a substantial wrist rest.
