"Thread could not be located from post ID" - Fullchat
!ve been trying to copy and paste an article from a FB forum. Ive done that via GMail from my mobile phone to my desktop and then paste into the forum on the Labour- For a Bit of Balance - What a Teapot Thread.
I keep getting the message as in the heading. I've put it through GMail, Mac Mail and copied ont a Word document and then recopied and pasted. Still get the same message. Ive even cut it in half to reduce the size which has made no difference,
Any ideas?

I generally see that when I use a link directly to a post which no longer exists. This happens occasionally when I've been moderating a thread and copied a link to a post which I then delete. Or at least I think that's what brings it on.

Forgetting the copy and paste bit, can you open the thread as normal, and post a reply? Seems OK here.

Are you using a copied link to take you back to the thread to post your item?

If so post the link here and maybe it can be explained.

Can open the thread as normal.
Added a 'Testing' post to it.
Not using a link at all. Have copied the text from the FB post on mobile phone and into and Email wallowing me to transfer to desktop.and then attempting to add text to the thread.

Are you replying to the same message in the thread each time?

Does it work if you reply to your testing message?

Sounds odd, do you want to send me the text and I'll see if it works for me? Either report the post and drop it in or mail to me (except I've forgotten my C4P email - think it's smokie_mod@car4play.com)

Me too.

Wonder whether convert to plain text would have sorted it?

Fullchat sent me the document as a Word doc which sure enough failed when copy/pasted.

So I started taking bits out and realised it was the leading part of each para (which was emboldened) which was causing a problem. it wasn't till they were ALL out that I could paste successfully. Word reported the font as Cambia Math. So the font must have a bit of HTML code which our forum software rather weirdly thinks means something else.

And yes, Bromps, with hindsight I'd not long ago thought that what I should have done first is dropped it into a plain text editor, like Notepad, or so I thought. So I just did that, and it still failed. How long has Notepad been supporting HTML?? :-)

Anyway to make it work I edited each heading to a more mainstream font and returned it to him, but I couldn't remember how to do bold in the forum so the "headings" lost their impact (apols!).

As it's in the public domain I'd be happy to send on the doc if you want to scrutinise it more Z but I'm way out of time on this one :-)

EDIT: Sent it anyway Z, to what I think is your mail address.

Got it, formatted. Would have assumed that all the formatting would have disappeared in all the cutting and pasting, clearly it didnt.
