 Microsoft Copilot - James Loveless
I need to vent.

I am totally fed up with Copilot, which now intrudes all the time on Outlook and (following last night's update) wants to "help" me write a reply every time I start a paragraph.

According to advice online, it cannot be removed.

I've just tested its summarising capabilities and it produced a "summary" that was longer than the original message and which contained errors of fact.

I'm good at scanning and speed-reading, and don't need so-called summaries. I know what I want to write and don't need someone standing at my side "helping" me. I am not a child and just want to get on with my life - preferably without immature distractions.

Maybe some people might find it useful - but why can't it be turned off?

Who dreams up this stupid, annoying crazy stuff?

I was trying to work out how to get rid too.

For me it's just a message on the emails and it's not actually faffed my drafting for me.

Behaving as you say it's not a co pilot so much as a captain with no Crew Resource Management skills.

We use gmail at work, maybe that's the way to go?

Or are there still simple mail clients out there?

Is this after installing the 24H2 'Feature' update?

But it can be disabled. Tho it may need some editing of the registry file. Which means it will return at the next "feature" update. You can always of course use non MS apps, like using another mail client, Chrome, and open office.
