I have a Samsung A10 phone. Recently, I have been unable to transfer photos to my PC. Up to a couple of weeks ago it was just a case of plugging my phone to the comp usb and the pictures would appear. I could then do what I had to with them.
I've tried all sorts of methods, including having the phone unlocked....but nothing !
Any ideas before I make the trip to Tesco phone shop, which isn't very far away. I'm on Windows 10.
Thanks

Replacing the phone is about the last thing on the list of actions.
When you plug it in do you see it at all in your PC File Explorer? If not the cable is probably worthy of replacement.
You may see the phone name but not be able to expand it to show its storage. If not then you should check your notifications as there may be one asking you what action you want to take - if so select transfer files (or maybe photos).

Have you set it to PTP mode on the phone? When you plug in you should get a screen prompt that it is charging, and then tap for options. Click this then select PTP. Update may have changed security settings.... May also be that the cable is broken.

OK girls, thanks. When I plug in, I get the charging bit. I have no idea what PTP is. I do have other cahles so I'll give one a try later. I'll report back. TA.

Friend called for coffee today and a grice of the Herod. Sorted out the photo problem by other means...I know not what alchemy he used but left me a desktop icon to do it. Changing the cable made no difference but thanks for the response.
