 Android Email Client - Arctophile
Which Android email client do people use?

My new Android mobile ‘phone (Moto G5s) will be delivered tomorrow and am wondering which email client to use for POP3 email.

When I bought my current Nexus 4 about four years ago I experienced problems with the default email client - I had difficulties downloading and storing attachments. As a consequence I installed K-9 Mail and, generally, it works fine.

What is the current default Android email (Gmail?) client on Android Nougat like? Does it insert adverts? Do Google snoop?

I have my own domain so am only looking for a client, not an email provider.

K9 Mail. Used it on three Android phones and it has been brilliant.

I've been using Alto for a while, quite like it but really only use the basic features.

Whichever mail client I;m using I like combined inbox views, as I have Google mail plus my own domain mail and it was a pain having to switch inboxes. I think most would do that now.

I used K9 for a bit, can't remember now why I ditched it but whatever the reason I quite liked it at the time and I expect whatever it was that I didn't like has not been fixed.

Pretty much the same as Smokie.

I use Alto, but I don't do anything clever.

I was using BlueMail which I'd liked for a long time, but then I started having problems between it and Outlook, though with GMail it was always fine.

I usually like to see a combined inbox, but on occasions would like to look at them separately, Alto does this and switching between individual accounts or combined is just a swipe.

The default GMail client shows them combined only.

Is that new for Android 7? My Gmail client on 6 shows separate ones or combined, which is what I want as I want to keep the email account for running our business separate from the personal stuff.

I don't know, I was trying it out a month or two ago. I'll look again when I have a minute.
