OK, would like to "put" some DVDs onto my iphone / ipad for watching on the plane etc.
How do I do this?
I have a PC with Win 10.
It has itunes and a dvd drive.
I also have VLC installed if thats relevant.
How do I do this? And keep it simple preferably for me to understand!

you put them into your iTunes video library, then synch them to the phone/ipad. iTunes will create the best format, but dont watch them on your fone unless you want eyestrain.

How do I get them into my itunes video library?

Personally I use HandBrake to rip my DVDs for use on mobile devices. I have a driver/kex (libdvdcss) on the Mac that lets it read the disks (they have DRM as do all DVDs). Some disks cannot easily be ripped to MPEG4 format because of their copy protection.
Years ago I used DVD Ripper on Windows to convert DVDs I owned to watch on a PVR or similar.
