 Microsoft issues patches for XP and Vista - Focal Point
Even though XP and Vista are no longer supported by Microsoft, yesterday's "patch Tuesday" included various security updates for them.

Not sure if users will have been notified in some way, or whether they will need to seek them out.

You need to download these yourself and install them. Windows Update no longer works on XP (and Vista?). Windows 7 would download and install automatically if you have windows updates turned on.

As far as I'm aware, Microsoft is providing support for business users of XP Pro until 2020.
