Android tablet protection - bathtub tom
SWMBO just asked me what protection her tablet has. I realised it hasn't.

Any recommendations?

I think the anti-virus market is still developing for Android. I seem to have an AVG product and one called 360 security, also something called TrustGo. I don't often install stuff which I am dubious about so maybe any (or all) of them are OK - but I couldn't put hand on heart and say so.

I use Advanced Mobile Care from IObit - excellent.

Don't bother. The only real threats come from downloading suspect apps from the play store. Just dont do it.

All the scare stories are, surprisingly, pushed around by the "protection" vendors.

Well it saves me a lot of time by not having to do certain tasks manually...:-)

It does the washing up and the vacuuming?

OK!

I tried AVG, as that's what I've got on the PC. She got loads of adverts, so I added Adblock. That reduced them a bit.

Feel like I'm bolting on bits to correct the bits I've bolted on!

As I've pointed out before, there's always at least one on every forum whatever the subject...:-)
