 Google Maps not working properly - Pat
My Google maps has refused to work at all in street view with the little man returning to his corner and sulking when I try to use it.

I can't get directions with it anymore and at times the whole thing just freezes.

I have tried to uninstall and re-install but there seems no way to uninstall it at all.

I restored back to last Thursdau when it was working fine but this had no effect at all.

Help please!

You can uninstall it manually. What type of computer OS do you have?

And just to get this right, directions in maps is not working, also street view (the little man) is not working? Two distinct problems?

What happens with directions? Is the option not on the screen or does it not give you the to and from boxes or does it simply not return a result?

I just noticed if I load Google maps (maps.google.co.uk/) then I do not get the blue panel offering me directions which I do get if I just put a postcode in the browser address bar. No idea if it's always been like that.

Anyway I think as a start I'd try clearing the browser cache.

Windows 7 and IE11.

I got the blue panel with the directions box until Thursday but not anymore and also the whole thing is now freezing up.....and Bing maps streetview is useless!

Going out to lunch so will get back to this tomorrow.

Fed up with trying to wash up boiling a kettle....that was the good old days, so I'm led to believe;)

That link doesn't work if you click on it, although it's correctly typed (i.e. with the https:.. prefix). Comes up with an error message:

"404. That’s an error.

The requested URL /)....%3E%3E was not found on this server. That’s all we know. "

Try going to Google and keying Maps into the search field.

That's just because the ) on the end got included in the link.

Don't have maps as a programme or app, just open it from by browser (chrome).

So Google, type in place, search and then select Maps. Directions are available in search box at top left.

Worked fine earlier to get route from Stoke to Andover and to use streetview around Froxfield.

Using W10 on this machine but same in W7 or even XP on the old netbook.

Yeah that's my experience too Bromps.
