I understand that Microsoft is to advise all users of IE that they can use other browsers, as part of a deal with the EU to avoid fines for anti-competition.
However, many sites I visit for business purposes are used by only a few hundred or thousand subscribers and are only viewable using IE. What is the EU position on that I wonder?

I saw a story in the Daily Mail which said the choice - by means of an on-screen dashboard - would be rolled out from March 1.
I get the impression exisiting users of XP, Vista and 7 will find the dashboard appears on their screens as part of an update.

I run Vista on the desktop and XP on the laptop.
It appeared as part of an update on the desktop last week.
I haven't turned the laptop on for a week now but will have to update it before I use it on Friday so will let you know then!
