What a faff !!!
Anyone else had this ?
Before you even think about removing MSOffice2013 consider this:
DO YOU HAVE YOUR MSOffice2013 LICENCE KEY ?
IF NOT, STOP HERE AND DO NOT GO PASSED THIS POINT UNTIL YOU HAVE IT.
IT IS NOT STORED ON YOUR PC, ONLY THE LAST 5 CHARACTERS ARE ACCESSIBLE LOCALLY, THE REST SITS WITH MS.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...
Read ALL of the following BEFORE starting to fix MSOffice2013.
You get random dialog boxes appearing telling you the office telemetry has bombed.
You try to uninstall MSOffice2013. Good Luck ! with that. You will probably see a "Something has gone wrong" error with an Error Code 0-4.
If you search this it will suggest you disable your antivirus software and the windows firewall*
The uninstall from the Control Panel will fail, again with the very helpful "Something has gone wrong Error Code: 0-4" message.
Use Fix-it and it will partially uninstall MSOffice. Scan the registry after this partial uninstall and there will be c.1159 broken or orphaned links. Reboot, and MSOffice is still there in the Control Panel-->Program and Features. Run Fix-It again and appears to have mopped up. A further scan of the registry finds another 25 broken or orphaned links.
* Win 7 Ultimate, you error message or "fix" may vary.
Installing is a ball-ache too. Make sure you have downloaded the version (32 or 64 bit) of office before trying to load and have the licence key to hand as MS now want some kind of registration either through an email address directly or link back to an address through licence if you have a corporate account or HUP.

>> IT IS NOT STORED ON YOUR PC
I am sure it depends on whether or not it's volume licensing, OEM, etc. What did you have?
|
Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 through HUP.
