 TalkTalk Homesafe - VxFan
This irritating piece of net nanny rubbish has been placed on my TT account earlier this evening. Despite turning it off through TT's website, it is still blocking websites at random.

Whilst I can understand the reasoning behind it, I have never asked for it to be placed onto my account, nor given consent for it to be enabled.

I have no children at home or any one else that could potentially be offended by nudity or pornography, let alone innocent websites that it is also blocking at random. I guess it thinks the "4play" part of car4play is 18+ rated too.

They're going to be getting a call from me in the morning, and I am going to be giving them some 18+ rated conversation if they don't remove it pronto.

Annoying.

BTW, i suppose that there's no chance of changing this forum's name to something a little toe curling?

Have had TalkTalk for years and never had any problem with Homesafe.

Are you sure you have turned off Kidsafe in your Homesafe options, not that it would block Car4play unless you specifically requested it to anyway?

Nor have I up until now.

I hadn't changed any of the settings. When I went into them to check, they're all turned off. Seems to have sorted itself out overnight. Funny how it also only affected the desktop PC and not my iPhone or iPad.

Played up again last night, but this time on all devices. Phoning TT was a complete waste of time ("why are you not suprised", I hear you shout!)

Anyway, I reset my router and cleared my browser cache, as advised by others on the net who have had similar problems in the past with this blasted net nanny.

Guess you are sure it's Homesafe which is blocking and not something else? Is there any message or log to prove it?

Yep. Their website pops up instead of the page(s) I want to visit telling me that Homesafe has blocked it and then give me the option to log in and change any settings.
