Just to flag up in case anyone else experiences the issue......
During the last 24hrs, Macmail on my iMac had failed to download incoming e-mails - I knew I had been sent mail because my iPad was downloading normally.
I rang tech support at Plusnet and was informed that they had received dozens of enquiries from Mac users - the problem being caused by a recent Yosemite update that had unchecked a box in mail preferences that should have been left checked.
It is possible that other service providers have been similarly affected.
The advice was concisely explained and spot on; mail is now being downloaded as usual. Well done to Plusnet!
