Daughter recently changed the pass code to unlock her iphone 5 and promptly forgot the code.
It has been several weeks since she had it connected to itunes, and there are some photos and contacts on the phone but not backed up.
I've only had a quick look, but it seems when I connect it to her itunes it needs the phone unlocked to do a back up.
Has she lost the photos / data since last back up? I'm thinking recovery will wipe the phone and re-install from itunes?
Is there any way to save what is on the phone?

Did she not have photos automatically being copied to iCloud? It does sound like she may lose the new photos and contacts if you have to restore from a backup.
Can't she try to remember the code she used?

Presumably she hasn't enabled the option to upload photos to the cloud?
Although contacts are backed up, I use an App called "PhoneCopy" to also back up contacts. I didn't originally install the App for that reason. I used it to copy my contacts/phone numbers from my old Nokia N70 so that I could then install onto the phone.

I don't know if she has cloud storage set up. Will ask.
If not then it will just need to be a lesson learnt.
