 Iphone 4 - strange new symbol in toolbar - Meldrew
I haven't had or done an IOS update but I am now getting a new symbol in the top right of the display. Reading from the right there is a battery symbol , a %age charge figure and then a new one which, examined with a magnifying glass is a small padlock with circular line round it with an arrow at one end. Looks as though it might relate to some locking function but nothing in the phone operation has changed SFAIK. Any Ideas please? Thanks

I didn't know either, so I googled 'iOS padlock icon' and found this:

Don't think there is a symbol, but I enabled the rotation lock on my borrowed Ipad. Twas nothing but an annoyance.

Many thanks WDB - sorted! I don't remember selecting rotation, one way or the other, but I know know how to select/deselect and that is great. We dinosaurs need all the help we can get!
