I have just come across this App called Vivino, it is free. It enables you to photograph a wine label, in the supermarket for example. and get a * rating and average price on it. I like wine but am confused by pretentious "Wine Speak" and find a star rating more useful, overall

Tastes like nectar gently squeezed from a dingo's armpit after it has run 10 miles, been run over by a rusty tractor and left in the sun for a week...
:o)

Also available on Android.

Does sound interesting, but presumably only useful if your idea of a 'good' wine is the same as theirs. Where do the ratings come from?

I'll try it and test it on the label of the Tesco finest chianti reserva I bought on Sunday that tastes of vinegar and whose cork was as dry as a dead dingo's donger.

It didn't find the above, maybe because it's a shiny black label, so I have added it to the database:)
