I'm using Chrome. I find that I cannot access the longer threads at all. Anything over 100ish posts takes forever to load/never does.

Try restarting Chrome. When my Pc has been on a long time, or hibernated, Chrome does that for me - mostly with this site. Even just closing the tab might help - So far as I know Chrome still uses a separate process for each tab.

I would also try clearing all browsing data (under Tools).

Same problem as Manatee and solution albeit on a 7yo Celeron/XP* machine coming to end of its viability. Task Manager shows multiple chrome processes so I think assumption is right.

My Packard Bell lasted about that long, mother board I suspect. As we're only about twenty miles apart, what chance of making one good one from the two?
