I get spellchecking on Word, email and at least one other website. Is there a way of installing it on this site please?

It can be added to the browser you are using (or its already included and just needs turing on)

What browser do you use?

Many thanks for suggestions but a spellchecker has just been installed automatically as part of a routine Windows update.

Is it English spelling, or some foreign version?

Is that not "Internet Explorer V10 has been installed by a routine windows update"?

Most certainly.

Spell checkers only do half the job. They tell you when you've spelt a word wrongly but they don't tell you the correct spelling.

Neither do they catch the wrong word eg lose/loose or where you type form instead of from.

More sophisticated checkers can correct common typos eg mine at work will correct manger to manager and near misses for committee, Parliament etc. Can catch you out even then. A colleague set hers so that initials of board members expanded to their full names. Gave some very odd results with postcodes etc on letters.

Mine does, and if there is more than one way of spelling it (eg, their, there: here, hear) it will give you those alternatives too.

Yes they do - most are right mouse click on the incorrectly spelt word and the correct spelling is shown.

You can also enter a word into the Google search box and it normally brings up the correct spelling.
