On my Windows 7 laptop I have a caddy containing a disk that used to be partitioned into E: and F: . Recently I bought a Sandisk USB memory stick which has nabbed the drive letter E: so I can't see the partitioned drive on the caddy.
Mrs H's laptop can see the caddy has 2 drives.
I've tried rebooting the laptop with the caddy and stick out and plugged the caddy back in to see if it would be recognised but I've now run short of talent and knowledge.
Anyone any idea how I can get at the missing drive?

Plug in your drive and
control panel/systems and security/administrative tools/computer management.
click storage then disk management and you will get a map of your disks, right click and you can assign drive letters.
