Bought a couple of these as recommended a month ago:

Is it possible to use them on a laptop running Windows 98SE?

Probably work with a Win98 driver installed:-

The product part number of my drive is SDCZ50-016G, which doesn't appear on the list, so I am not sure if any of these drivers will work with my drive.

Is there any point in experimenting with the other drivers?

At risk of exposing myself to ridicule, W98 doesn't support USB2.

May this be significant?

Win98 USB support is patchy at best - doubt it will work without a specific driver, and unlikely there is one!

Install Linux and watch the laptop fly!
