A couple of occasions in the last few days the clock time has advanced.
I have not consciously done anything to it.

it was about 30 mins fast yesterday.
After a " security update" last night the clock is now correct.

What's causing this ?

The last time that happened to me I had to replace the CMOS battery. But that was about 20 years ago. I haven't given a thought to CMOS batteries since - I assume they still exist ;-)

The correcting itself is probably just an auto update from internet time and nothing directly to do with the update.

Ah, of course, yes, the computer.
I read the thread title and was about to suggest slightly altering the length of the pendulum...
