I have re-set Explorer 9 and possibly Google as well. Now, a "tool bar" (if that is what it is called) is missing. It contained View (which gained access to other tool bars), Tools and Favorites, among others, although I realise Favorites are accessible via the star icon, top left. Can anyone say how to restore this "tool bar" please? The various online official Help faciliies don't help.

Right click on the grey area at the top of the page and tick 'command bar' in the menu that drops down.
May be a good idea to tick 'lock tool bars' too, it will prevent it happening again;)

Now that Pat has solved your problem, perhaps you can return the favour by telling her (and me) how you got the "favorites" star icon to the top left in IE9.

Many thanks, pda - 2 minutes thanks to you against 2 fruitless hours thanks to me. As regards the star icon, I should have said "top right" and it appeared after the reset. It seems to be part of the Google set-up but it wasn't there before.

I thought we'd found an answer to moving the favourites star;)

The star is still there although, thanks to your tip, I don't now need it.
