What are the advantages of Chrome over plain vanilla Google please?

Google Chrome is a fast, light, stable web browser to replace Internet Explorer. It work on web sites where IE9 does not.

Plain vanilla Google is a search engine web page.

IIRC the basic Android Internet app that comes with Android phones is a lite version of Chrome. It certainly seems to work OK...:-)

The stock browser on Android is not Chrome. It is WebKit based but does use the Chrome Javascript engine.

Chrome is now in beta for some phones - need to be running Android 4 (ICS).

To expand a bit,

Google Inc. is a company www.google.co.uk/about/corporate/company/

which has many products www.google.co.uk/intl/en/options/

including Google - search engine,

Google Chrome - web browser,

and Youtube, SketchUp, Picasa, etc. etc.

Google Chrome is opensource, and so available in other forms - eg. "SRWare Iron" Chrome.

As for what Stuartli said, I have no idea what he was replying to.
