I have been happily using the netbook when away from home and now want to load on some software from disc. I reckon the easiest way will be to use an external drive so want to get one. It seems £20 will be enough. Depending on cost maybe a DVD writer too, which would be handy for back-ups.
So, does the panel have a recommendation for a basic, reliable, cheap drive and perhaps another recommendation for one including a DVD writer.

This one from Amazon @ £21.29 seems to tick all the boxes:
Samsung SE-208AB/TSBS 8 x DVD+/-RW Slim Portable External DVD Writer - Black

If you only intend to upload/install stuff at home, you could use the drive on your regular PC.
Involves setting up "sharing" the drive, and mapping to it on the netbook.
I have done both mapping and external usb drive in the past - how you do it may depend on the time vs money equation, or just "because you can" with a little learning.
YMMV.

you can map the drive on another machine as suggested if you only need it at home, but I bought that Samsung SE-208AB for the macbook air, runs on mac or pc. - I got it for 20 quid at my supplier, but only 21 quid at Ebay.
Its a recommended buy by me.

If it's good enough for Zero I'm sure it will suit me perfectly.
Thanks.
Just ordered on Amazon @ £21.29.
