Not like the Japanese to be over zealous is it! - I grew and harvested 4 Melons in my greenhouse last year using the "Let Nature do it`s stuff" method, they were the size of a mid-sized football and extremely tasty as for the last ten days of their life they had a bit of sugar in their water!
