I've got 5.0.1, is that the same thing?

No thats 0.9.9 behind.

5.0.1 is the old one, 5.1.0 is the new one.

Yes. Few hours after it came out.

Any issues?

No. The new way the camera works from a locked screen takes a little getting used to though. You now have to swipe up instead of just clicking on the camera icon.

Some reports say that users have said battery life is better. To be honest I've not noticed any change. I still get a full day out of the battery and it's down to the same level every evening when I put it on charge. That might be down to someone at work making a manual adjustment to the settings on my phone shortly after the previous update to stop the battery problems though. i.e. changing the "Setting Time Zone" to Off in location services.

Fair point.

That's my job for tomorrow morning then - plugging in and updating.

I can see why they've changed that camera thing, ended up with half a dozen photos of my phone's screen !

Done via wifi now. No plugging in required.

How did you manage to do that then?

To take a snapshot of your phone screen you have to press the sleep/wake button and home button both at the same time. Something you wouldn't normally do unless you actually wanted a snapshot of the phone screen.

That's a new(ish) feature?
Was able to do that on my Nokia 5800 from day one, over 2 years ago.

Next thing with i-phone will be the groundbreaking idea of video calls without having to use wi-fi.
Oh.... the Nokia can do that as well....

I agree.
But it was your choice to buy an Iphone, so don't take its inadequate features to heart..... ;-)

Anyway, my Nokia has been relegated to back up phone status...

And no, I didn't follow the sheep....

so it was a crap phone after all

Oh how the mighty have fallen... poor relegated nokia.

No a crap phone at all.
It pulls a signal where 'better' phones can't.

I decided to get another phone when upgrade time came around, and moved away from Nokia (who have lost their way) and got an android phone.
Totally brilliant it is as well IMHO.
Does everything I need a phone to do.

And I can still get a signal where 'better' phones can't.
(I don't just mean i-phone 4, the phone where you were lucky to get a signal next to a phone mast......)

;-)

Why would it have had an issue?
It is marketed by Apple. (made in China by Foxconn)
