I don't go in for commercial yankee imperialist con tricks, fostered by the zionist press as a sop to the downtrodden brotherhood of workers.

Best wishes to all - so much interesting stuff to read!
Wonder if many are like me - read a post and replies, compose an answer/contribution, then wonder if I am adding anything or just looking a bit of a t*t so don't post it!
Mind you, after a few glasses of red, looking a bit of a t*t doesn't seem to matter - hope you forgive those lapses!
Keep posting - I enjoy reading!!

Caution, other, very, explicit stuff by this guy.
Bah, humbug to all.

I just pressed the pretty coloured buttons that have appeared on the Google page and the result made me smile, so I'm willing to say Happy Christmas to all here, other than those who would be offended by such an insult from the lower kitchens of course.

Yeah, Happy Christmas and a good 2012 from one of us happy few who are lucky enough to live in our Arcadian North-West.
Thoroughly enjoy reading the writings of our erudite few and our chunnering masses through the year.
As me ole mate Alf Tennyson said.....
Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
The flying cloud, the frosty light;
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.
Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
Ring out the grief that saps the mind,
For those that here we see no more,
Ring out the feud of rich and poor,
Ring in redress to all mankind.
Ring out a slowly dying cause,
And ancient forms of party strife;
Ring in the nobler modes of life,
With sweeter manners, purer laws.
Ring out the want, the care the sin,
The faithless coldness of the times;
Ring out, ring out my mournful rhymes,
But ring the fuller minstrel in.
Ring out false pride in place and blood,
The civic slander and the spite;
Ring in the love of truth and right,
Ring in the common love of good.
Ring out old shapes of foul disease,
Ring out the narrowing lust of gold;
Ring out the thousand wars of old,
Ring in the thousand years of peace.
Ring in the valiant man and free,
The larger heart, the kindlier hand;
Ring out the darkness of the land,
Ring in the Christ that is to be.
Says it all, really.

Merry Christmas everyone.
May we all live in uninteresting times.

Guess I'd better go and get some presents and cards and stuff this afternoon.

I wouldn't wear your best shoes - they're bound to get trampled on.

Ishmael's take on the season. NSFW as there is bad language.
I do not necessarily concur with his opinions, but his invective is, shall we say, colourful!

A very merry Christmas to all. May it be filled with love, happiness and an indecent amount of food and booze :-)

A very Merry Christmas to all !

Merry Christmas all round.
Hoping not to see the forecast 14'C just yet because the festive fowl is too big for the fridge and is under a stack of icepacks in the garage. Still, could be worse - imagine if I'd spent two thousand quid on winter wheels and tyres for both cars and had to put the summer sets in there. Where would the turkey go then, poor thing?

I had a similar thought coming out of the Shaun of the Dead set....sorry local Asda - a rather forlorn crop of snow scoops and a pallet load of white salt in the foyer for the last 6 weeks...no takers. They'll have invested rather more in the hope of a whiteout...!
|
According to Norad, Santa`s just at the Kuril Islands! - an no snow there either!
|
=>They'll have invested rather more in the hope of a whiteout...!<=
Plenty of time yet PUR.P - January, Febuary, March etc., etc..
:(
|
Winter tyres, shoe grips, snow scoop....!
|
As the Pope says, in faltering English through his PA system,
A very merry Christmas to you all.

My wife's grandmother disliked 'merry Christmas' because she thought 'merry' might encourage or suggest over-indulgence in alcohol.
I am made of less stern stuff though, so I faffingly hope everyone here will enjoy an appropriately tipsy/stoned/blotto/hard-working/austere Christmas (strike out words that do not apply) and a routinely prosperous New Year.
Those who have misunderstood me or who have understood me only too well: take it easy. I don't usually mean to offend. Only sometimes.
|
No winters tyres, no shoes grips, no scoop, NO SNOW
|
Merry Christmas to all forum members from me and the nippers. So glad this year's almost out of the way, roll on 2012!
|
>> roll on 2012!
I'm sure that it will be a better one for you and yours.

Whatever you say Great Leader
|
Merry Christmas to one and all!
I made a decision this year....
.....rather than giving all my friends and family Xmas cards, I have decided to make a donation to a worthwhile charity - my local Air Ambulance. www.tvacaa.org/
Seems a better idea than spending money on something that gets looked at once, gathers dust, then gets binned.
|
Very best wishes to all.
Last year we had five lots of snow here before Christmas. This year, not a flake. I even gave the Beast a run out with the top down in today's sunshine.
|
Merry Christmas from the wild west of Wales.
Christ, it's only Christmas Eve and I'm bored already.
|
Yeah .... so the same as all you lot.
Difficult to be original this far down the post

Happy Hobgoblins to the lot of you. I hate to admit I would miss you/it if it/you weren't here. Peace to all..............and we'll start the next fracas as soon as.................
Merry Xmas>>>>>>>

Well just back from Christmas mass and feeling more festive now and less bah humbug. First true Christmas mass I have been to for a while and really enjoyed it - younger priest, group playing guitars, nice Christmassy / Holy feeling about it.
Been a tough week with 4 funerals including a 17 year old from my daughter's class who collapsed and died with an unknown rare heart condition. Try keeping a dry eye when you see classmates carrying their pal's coffin. I couldn't.
So needed to be re-programmed into Christmas spirit and I think it has worked.
Life's too short for Bah Humbug so Merry Christmas everyone!
