Judging by his forum stats he is submerged and spying on us. The SS did a lot of that.

I always enjoy my pension, wherever I am in the world. :)

That escape is feasible, with a lot of luck. I have done free ascents (life jacket only) and also escape suit assisted ascents from 100' in the training tank at what was HMS Dolphin. The navy has done suit ascents from 600' in trials during the 70's or 80's in the Mediterranean. I would think this is the absolute limit. If the escape does not kill you the cold will. Not something I would like to attempt.
