Any early Risers this morning? - Zero
A train event is happening near me at 06:00 tomorrow morning. Sun up is due at 06:55.

Any early risers this morning (west london dwellers)? What was the light like at 06:00?

(yeah yeah I know, but us retired blokes dont get up that early any more)

It will be lighter for longer both am and pm - but still dark now at 6am...:-)

Sunrise is timed for 06:57 GMT tomorrow morning. You normally expect some useful light in the sky from about half an hour before sunrise, depending on the weather. Lighting-up time (i.e. lights on vehicles) is half an hour before sunrise and half an hour after sunset.

Pretty dark at 06:00 I would say.

(No, I don't get up then either, if I can avoid it.)

You really do need a new hobby stay in bed enjoy the wife and get up at 10.

Leave the 0600 for us workers with our 12hr shifts working on the railways it's a job not a passion.

I gather this is the very thing for such events...

PAh! Says the man who has a SHED!

I think a "Night" photo of a "smoker in full flight" with that Orange glow, belching flames and sparks could be quite impressive!!

Get out of yer pit!! and get us some!;-)

SHEDs are for nerds...:-)

I'll have you know I'm very proud of my new shed. It has a verandah, balustrades, a built in kennel with seperate dog door ( with his own litle porch ), rug on the floor. None of yer B&Q rubbish. Bespoke this shed is. Talk of the neighbourhood. People come round to see it, everything. "Shed" doesn't really cover it. Can't quite bring myself to put anything in it yet. Might make it untidy.

:-))

It's Cheshire one upmanship, summer house in posh parlance..;)

No
I live in a proper Lodge with stone pillars and initials of the owner in ceramic on the floor... and draughts...

""Shed" doesn't really cover it"

Sounds like a vacant hovel..

I can see the headlines:

Cheshire tramp refuses to sleep in shed as it's too good for him....

>> Cheshire tramp...

:-)

Notice Zero's missing. Off to buy that hat I expect.

It has no roof?

How much did you pay for this tasteless roofless folly?
Any early Risers this morning? - Runfer D'Hills
It has a roof, which indeed extends over the verandah. Wouldn't know about the cost but my estate manager (SWMBO) tells me it was jolly good value.

Probably not much use to you, but I pulled into a loading area at Sheffield Meadowhall shopping centre at 05:55 this morning. The first glimmer of light was just visible in the (clear) Eastern sky over the Tinsley viaduct.

Showers forecast tonight*, the cloud cover will keep it pitch dark for another 10-15 minutes tomorrow morning I reckon. I'll be in London (other side though) so I'll compare sunrise times with t'North.

*Didn't check that before I washed the car earlier, d'oh.

You mean "Meadowhell", surely? At least for us poor males forced to wander its lines of ghastly shops.

I was up at 6:30 Saturday morning for my shift at the Talking Newspaper - Wanted to make sure I had plenty of time for breakfast.

Shouldn't have had the 5 lagers, staying up until 1am in the morning listening to music the night before though - bad move!

It's quite normal to have an early riser!
