75 clubs closed in towns. That looks like a big gap in the fun stakes.

>> A lot more youngsters on the streets at night ?
I doubt it, they'll just go to a different club somewhere else.
|
A welcome reduction in the falling about drunk, fighting and getting pregnant aspects of what passes for life, among the young.
|
Reading the OP I expected a link to Council cuts and closure of youth clubs.
Suspect that in this case last week's local tragedy will have been the final straw to a company that was already tottering.

Oh good lord, were you never young?
1969, bragging way into pubs, getting drunk, smoking, fighting, riding powerful bikes without license, tax, insurance, lights, trying to get your leg over, nicking stuff from woolies,
ME, AGE 15. And all my contemporaries. Life changed anyway these days? Nope - just the reporting of same.

Oh come on Zero - life HAS changed!
Woolies went down the pan - You now have to nick from Poundland! ;-)

Shine up your buttons with Brasso,
It's only three halfpence a tin,
You can buy it or nick it from Woolworth's,
Whenever they've got the stuff in.

This brings back, unwantedly, the only thing of child abuse i have ever had!!
The girls (the older ones) stripped as they sang this, actually not something i want to remember too well.
was that normal?

The most illegal thing I used to do is drive my mates Fiesta in the local park (car park) without insurance. I did think it was legal though because it was on private land.
I've had in some ways a very sheltered life, in other ways not so sheltered at all.
When I was 15 I think I used to spend most nights playing Sim City 2000 or watching Coronation Street.

Not everybody subscribes to the theory that being a tit is a rite of passage.
Then again, back when you were 15, dinosaurs roamed the Earth, so it was a while ago now :-p
On a serious note, I dont recall many lads drinking when I was a teen, smoking yes, but the anti-social stuff didnt happen that much, it was quite a niche exploit in deepest Sussex in the early 90's. They never did more than hang out at bus stops and look more meanacing than they really were.

On a serious note, equipped me ok for future life, enabling comfortable retirement at age 54

You should write a book - 'Fags, booze and being a misery, my success story' :-p
|
How about, bed, bad back and Jealousy?
|
Hehe, not a lot to be jelous of tbh. Ive got more than most.
|
Yes I was! But at that age I wasn't fighting, drunk or pregnant and, if I had been, I wouldn't have been proud of it or thought it normal.
