I thought that late Gerald Wingrove was the best model maker I have ever heard of, until I came across David Glen's 1/5 th scale model of a Spitfire. Have a look at the cockpit detail! It is impossible to distinguish the model from the real thing. Obsessive attention to detail describes it well. He is now working on a Mustang P 51 which should be worth seeing!

I really admire folk who can do that sort of thing, whatever the prototype is.
My modelling days are over but I used to make and paint railway stuff.
I get a couple of model rail magazines monthly and I'm constantly amazed at what some people create. You really have to look closely to see if it's a model or not.
Long may these guys continue.

My Ex-wife always said I was a "model Husband" - Iwas quite chuffed! - until she said she meant it as "A small imitation of the real thing"!!

My ex-wive said I was Bar Steward but I'm guessing it was because I never let her meet my parents!

At a boat jumble on Sunday I saw a large model boat made out of matchsticks. Hours of painstaking pointless work must have gone into it - now it was suffering from shrinkage and peeling varnish.
