... my bet?
I've always said if they do reform I will dance naked in my favourite bar and night club (owned by the same guy) to get a life long ban because I knew it would never happen. One of my friends is a good friend of Ian Brown and I have teased my mate about them reforming for years and he was insisted it would never happen.
Then tonight lots of rumours and now read this
menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/tv_and_showbiz/s/1461936_manchesters-stone-roses-set-to-announce-comeback-tour-next-week
Either way it is true I will happily pay £100 or more for a ticket and I am not even a fan (but I love their music) BUT I refuse to dance naked...
If this is true, then for Manchester this is bigger than United winning the treble but also could be bad news. The under 30's in Manchester have to suffer in the knowledge they never got to see them and that makes then legends, but if they reform they will no longer be legends but just another Take That.
However I do know for a fact, if the Stone Roses reform, then I know for a fact Joy Division will do, with a new line up with kirk Cobain as producer and Ian Curitis on vocals, because if the Stone Roses do reform, neither of them are dead.

1/ Never make bets you are unwilling / unable to honour.
2/ If you have been out drinking, leave the computer forums alone.
Dunno about your bar/night club.... but carry on like this and you could be looking at a ban from C4P....

This thread is useless without pictures!
Or maybe better for it...
|
The better for it :). Of course it has to be original line up too, far too many times a band announces they are to reform but a major member will be missing.
Like New Order reforming without Hooky, its not really New Order then is it?
|
It would be New Order, but not Old Order.
What is this thread about anyway? I thought my musical tastes were eclectic but you haven't been near anything I could whistle yet.

Good whistleable tune: www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0whFVTxZs8

Rattles musical testes would only be eclectic, if eclectic was a suburb of Manchester or a punk band.

>> Rattles musical testes
... combined with his social mammaries
might suggest something rather odd.

Well, the Rolling Stones did rather well after Brian's demise, IIRC?
As did countless other bands in drug-fuelled days of the 60s and 70s.
But I'll agree with other posters - 4am posts are not wise, unless you are a vampire like me, who gets to work at that time of the morning.

As a proper Mancunian....I have to admit that all these names being bandied about mean absolutely zip-all to me .......
....and proud of it too !

In 1970 I vowed to dye my hair yellow should the Beatles ever play together again.
So far so good.

Yes Rattle, your bet must be honoured! even if only to prove to your mates that you are a man of your word!
So, head held high, drop-em and go for it!!
Who knows once the girls see whats in your lunchbox they all may want you to take them on a picnic!!
