Yeah you're right - I had a self styled "photographer" as a friend on FB - he used to put up comically computer coloured photos on the site for people to oooh and ahh at - they were hideous -
colours are best left alone and black and white might not be fashionable but will forever have a certain flair and style.

Indeed but B&W has to be lit perfectly and developed well. And by perfect I dont just mean balanced, but the contrast between light and shade has to be done with feeling. It can be very gentle and soft or in your face gritty raw depending on the mood you wish to set.
