My daughter's got one of these enormous great, American style 'fridge/freezers. The bulb's gone in the 'fridge compartment. It's an 'Osram superlux krypton 40W ES' which would appear to be out of production: www.svetila.com/en/super-e-sil-40w-krypton-56.html

I'm thinking any old 40W bulb that'll fit the compartment will do, as a 'fridge is around 5 degrees centigrade. That's probably no worse than an outside light.

Thoughts and opinions?

That's the sort of thing henry and only half the price of what the original used to be. ;>)

Still eye-wateringly overpriced IMHO. I reckon I'll go for a 'normal' 40W.

Some on Ebay are twice the price.
A local shop may well match the cheapest on Ebay but still not cheap.

I've found both fridge and microwave blubs on the local market before, for around 50p each.

A new ASDA (well, a rebranded Netto) has just opened round the corner. I was surprised to see they stock half a dozen of each of thirty-odd bulb styles, including 15w / 25w / 40w appliance bulbs and the obscure screw-in sizes used in my IKEA and Argos lamps.
