Getting too many of these nuisance text messages "you maybe entitled to £3450 for the accident you had, to apply free, reply claim to this message to opt out text stop"

I have sent stop twice but they keep coming back this one may just get a swear word.!!

Is there a way to stop this lot or am i stuffed?

On Vodaphone.

Depends on the phone. On a smartphone like an Android it would be possible if you know their number.

I have been getting occasional Health and Safety texts for a while from somewhere. There is nothing to say who it was. So whenever it was very cold or very hot I'd get warnings. Recently got one saying something about the H&S service and the message had a number. Now I know why and will get round to stopping them. It's related to a customer and the fact I had an account on their network (email address too probably).

Slight drift but related topic ...

I had a phone call at home only tonight from some guy telling me he worked for a computer repair company and that they had "detected" a problem on my computer which if not attended to early would be the ruin of it.

Funny thing is though he hung up when I put it to him that if he was correct that his company must have hacked into my computer and I would now quite like their head office address so I could pass their details to the appropriate authorities...

Funny how when the economy hits the skids the chancers come out of the woodwork.

Each time I receive one it's from a different number. Never reply to them - they're exactly the same as spam emails, only the medium of delivery has changed.

The trouble comes when people who don't use computers (e.g. the elderly) and therefore are out of touch with just how prevalent this kind of thing is, receive messages (or worse, unsolicited phone calls) and are taken in by them.
