I have been watching a program about child abuse. We have no national database and the police often have to work in isolation to resolve a case. These horrific discusting crimes done to children and shown on the internet is beyond my belief. We need a database as soon as possible and the police need all the help we can give them to catch these demons who commit sexual crimes against children.

The previous govt were working on such a database starting from School records. The coalition scrapped it on ground including, as well as cost, intrusion into personal lives.

This depends really.
We need to split The Netherlanders post into two. Sexual abuse for use on the internet, and general abuse.
As far as sexual abuse that touches the net goes, its quite easy, and the police are very good at, catching them. As soon as money changes hands or is involved on line a trail is established and easily monitored. Where people share stuff, eventually the ring will be broken.
No need for a database there.
As for general abuse, in the home, as soon as a child is placed on the "at risk" register, yes it should be tracked, wherever they go. Ditto with abusers.
Trouble is, both need to be identified up front to appear on any database.
