"Morgenton Halbmond" is what I got when I used google translate to go from the original English to German, then via a random selection of languages including Bengali and Vietnamese and finally back to German. The final English rendering is even odder. Reply to this message | Report message

Here you go, lads - a meaningful discussion on when it's Schloß and when it's Burg: tinyurl.com/6yq6zbt (To summarise: Schloß is more of a splendid residence, with possibly some concessions to fortifications, such as turrets, whereas Burg is more a of a military stronghold.) I always thought the difference with Burg and Schloß was one was a fortified castle with typically square towers and the other was more of a 'fairy tale' type castle with round towers. In south Wales you would compare Cardiff Castle and Castell Coch. Talking of towers.... just watching the latest episode of Made in Britain. He starts out on the 1 Canada Square tower in Canary Wharf. Hadn't cottoned on that was where I am tomorrow. I knew I was at 1 Canada Square but hadn't associated it with that building.
