 Henley Women's Regatta - Sat & Sun - Manatee
Today and tomorrow. Off shortly. Good afternoon out, weather looking better. Daughter will be in club eight.

Well worth a visit if you're in the area. No entry fee (£7 to park last year), no drunken hoorays like the Royal Regatta.

...or Royal Ascot.

Steady Roger you may disturb iffy's progress to sainthood.

I've already rejected that on the basis you have to be dead.

A peerage or a knighthood would be good.

Had a look as I crossed the bridge on the way to cricket. Course looked waterlogged - as indeed was our pitch after the afternoon thunderstorm. Frustrating day; will try to have a look at the boats tomorrow.

You mean the bank? I didn't go up the bridge end, but the ground seemed OK elsewhere.

Daughter's crew were knocked out in their first race today unfortunately - started well and went ahead, but taken aback by the gusting cross/headwind wind and never got ahead afterwards. They weren't in my view at the time - according to the commentary they were "almost shipwrecked" which sounded a bit dramatic, though Girl said it was nothing she was aware of! Lost by 2.5 lengths.
