Glasgow. time for a beer? - legacylad
This Monday we arrive Glasgow Central 11.16. We depart Queen Street 12.21 to Lochailort. Any chance of a beer or two, in a nice pub. given our time constraints?
And a decent offie to buy lubrication for the next 5 hour leg?

Come out Central Station and go to the Horseshoe bar which is just across the road and round a corner.

Not sure of best offie - there is a Tesco or Sainsburys local nearby which may have the best deals.

Are you staying at/near Lochailort then? Spent some time there a couple of years back and about 20yrs ago. Boating out on the loch mostly... amazing place on a sunny day.

thanks BobbyG
Two of us are backpacking from Lochailort to St Cyrus (just N of Montrose) over a 9 day period, covering plenty of desolate country. The weather forecast looks a bit grim at the moment, so our wild camps could be really wild...and wet!
I knew the nice April weather would not last.
