Spanish golf legend Seve Ballesteros has died after a protracted battle with cancer.
The 54-year-old passed away surrounded by his family at his home in Pedrena, northern Spain, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
I have some very fond memories of watching Seve play golf, both on TV and on course. He brought passion and fun to what was a stuffy sport, and inspired the same passion in the youngsters from Spain.

A colleague of mine died in his mid-30s from the effects of a brain tumour.
His pain and suffering lasted for months and months.
He came back to work a couple of times, only to get ill again.
Eventually died in a hospice.
Professionally, we didn't see eye to eye, but I wouldn't wish what he went through on my worst enemy.
A truly terrible disease.
