Seen it asked a couple of times so just a quick explanation save cluttering up any other threads with the random question bout my name.
FoR is a shortened version of my alias on fathers forums im involved with, Father of Roo, my sons nickname, a little man so far away but never out of my mind.
All the best then. You confused me because most name changes are car and/or natural disaster related.
He's not got big hind legs has he being knock named Roo ;-)

Nah, if you were to name him on appearance he would be along the lines of Tom Thumb, he is small for his age ( small at birth too ) so pulls off the little cherub thing just a little too well.
Its just easier to call him Roo than his actual name which I think his mum picked out of a hat, as she does most of her parenting decisions... :-)

I can't understand the the reasons why some here would want to change their moniker on a regular basis, but then again I'm not a psychologist, psychiatrist, psychotherapist or psychoanalyst. Perhaps they've something to hide?
I put my hand up to a temporary change, triggered by the mods at the inception of this site, but I think we more or less guessed who we all were.
>> I think we more or less guessed who we all were.
Perro, right? :-P
>> Perro, right? :-P
No he's missing since the recent house move. Hope all is well in the dog house.
>>I can't understand the the reasons why some here would want to change their moniker on a regular basis<<
I had my original for ages, then went through a couple of others which I decided I didnt like, so have now reverted to another that I use elsewhere. Sometimes one simply gets bored, it need not have any profound basis, its much easier than changing the wife and cheaper than changing the car :-)

surely you have got that the wrong way round?
its much easier than changing the car and cheaper than changing the wife :-)
It was helpful in the old days when some name changers would end their posts with 'Was StuNorthants' or whatever their moniker had been, for a month or so.
I think a few have changed their forum name to try to get away from their previous reputation.
I think people know who I am within a couple of posts, must have a distinctive style or something!
Theres a few who I dont know what they became from the other place or even if they came over. Hate to ask just incase I look more foolish than normal!
I forget though, who was that seriously fighty person, the one that got everyones backs up from their first post, then disappeared? Mr something I think...
Lets just call him Mr X...:-)
Zero chance of seeing him again.
Mr X was/is not Zero - Z has denied it on more than one occasion and their posting styles were/are very different.
Quite. Mr X was very obnoxious and never funny. Zero is often funny and seldom obnoxious.
Can't make out who this FoR chap used to be though.
>> Can't make out who this FoR chap used to be though.
It's Stu.

Funny that, we're having stew tonight. And dumplings.
There is something of the dumpling about me...
I say, steady on. Someone has awarded me a negative gong. Was it Mr X, or might it have been Zero for saying he was seldom obnoxious instead of never? Or was it Stu for my failure to work out his new handle?
My guess is it was someone regularly tormented or teased by Zero.
>> I say, steady on. Someone has awarded me a negative gong.
Welcome to my world, won't you come on iiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnn..........
(Wasn't me, btw.)
It wasn't me:)
I'm in the stand up and be counted row!
Pat
>>Or was it Stu for my failure to work out his new handle?<<
Not me, I thought it a little odd myself.
Some negative gongs may be due to fat fingers. The screen on the iPhone doesn't leave much room for error and I occasionally touch the Bad Spot when I'm looking for the Back arrow. Not sure the gong ever appears, though; nor do the green thumbs I sometimes award.
Whoever voted negatively had to also submit their response. If they entered a reason the mods would know but if left blank they will not know who sent it.
>> My guess is it was someone regularly tormented or teased by Zero.
Who, it has to be said, has never attempted to hide his current or previous incarnations in this or previous lives. Stu has never attempted to hide behind name changes either, just left us to guess!

Someone gave me a "mark as offensive" thingy on my original post on the caravan thread. I was temporarily miffed but then when I thought about it....
:-)
The thing is, its a multiple red face! more than one person rated it offensive!
I really don't get this idea that I was Mr X. I am actually quite offended by the notion!
.. Multiple thing...So it is ! - Excellent !
:-)

Well, whoever thinks me offensive is not alone. I see the expression of displeasure has deepened and intensified.
I'm not miffed at all though. Indeed I have got off pretty lightly in this respect, on the whole. What I am is curious, deeply curious.
I can only think of one person currently posting whose discourse bears some resemblance to the egregious Mr X's. Perhaps he is one of those who think me offensive. If so I take it as a bit of a compliment.
But who could the other be? One can be curious without giving a fish's tit so to speak.
>> I can only think of one person currently posting whose discourse bears some resemblance to

No one's that bad. Don't understand the red faces either.
he he he, AS, it wasn't me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GH_StQ6KdW0
>> I can only think of one person currently posting whose discourse bears some resemblance
Be a man. Don't be a twit or a wimp. Name names. Words on t'internet can't hurt, Shirley, or can they?
>> Be a man. Don't be a twit or a wimp.
Naming names can hurt, Sharon. But you have divined correctly that you are the person whose discourse bears a resemblance to Mr X's. Since, clearly, you aren't completely stupid, Tracey my dear, why don't you take your own advice and try to be a man instead of an annoying small boy? You never have anything interesting to say. You display nothing that I would call wit or humour. You have though, Sharuna, a small talent for being irritating.
One of my daughters has a friend who reminds me of you. He's probably in his mid-forties now but still thinks of himself as a charming mischievous teenager. Constantly begging for a hard kick up the jaxie. Nothing interesting to say although far from stupid. Very seldom funny. But he thinks he is. I got sick of the little twerp in the end and chucked him out of my car. I am happy in the thought that I will never see him again.
Either grow up, Shirelle you little tart, or 'go forth and multiply'.

It was a joke ;-)
Figured that but thanks for the confession anyway !
:-)
Well I thought it funny at the time. Sorry if you didn't.
I can do static caravans but remember by dad towing a large caravan with a Triumph Dolomite with I think a 1.5l engine. The van was too big and the route his mate suggested (hills) not a good idea.

No really I did smile. Relax, no problem !

(They fall into each other's arms in floods of happy tears. Curtain)
I do hope you've got more than your flip-flops on Z? I know it has been warm and they do things differently down south but you know...
Flip Flops and boxers, a southern sex god, me.
I have no idea who Zilch is or was. Not worth worrying about? Not worth much anyway? I suppose that makes him good value for money...
:-))
He often talks about Nicole, Papa, and Fifi.
He was in the Renault Clio ads?
You were over on the HJ site originally weren't you? But in case you weren't....
Zero used to drive a Renault family car (RF) and hence the references to Nicole etc. He was hit by a bus (I don't think it was his fault) and the car was written off and he became a VW Touran driver. Jump ahead and he now has a Mitsubishi Lancer (Zero). Simple really.
...He was hit by a bus (I don't think it was his fault)...
The court did. :)
Do you have that photo as your screen saver Dave? you seem to know where to keep finding it.
>> Do you have that photo as your screen saver Dave?
No, I just forum searched my username and the word "multiply" - simples.
Hadn't seen those photos before.
Renault should use them in an advertising campaign. Amazing how intact the passenger compartment is.

And at no time was he Mr X, Never!
(he has been a few other people on here, now dead and gone, but none of you ever twigged)
But why the name 'zero'? Is it because it's a small dress size for women?
The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was a long range fighter aircraft operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service (IJNAS) from 1940 to 1945. .....
Zero drives a Mitsubishi ......
Seemples.....
>> (he has been a few other people on here, now dead and gone, but none of you ever twigged)
The mods did ;-)
...he has been a few other people on here, now dead and gone, but none of you ever twigged...
Zero a has been?
Surely not, more a never was.
"You were over on the HJ site originally weren't you? But in case you weren't...."
I will ignore that.
But I don't remember RF being such a - now, how shall I put it? - well-informed, widely-read, lively, charming and prolific contributor.

He wasn't a retired grumpy young stay at home househusband then.
Ok thats the choccy teapot out the way... so who is it?
aRF! aRF! aRF!
Down, Fifi! Down!
>> Who is RF?
>>
You should know. You had plenty of ding dongs with RF on HJ, AFAIK.
Now, who was HJ?
You know, the BR seems an awful long time ago tbh and I had some lovely ding-dongs with all sorts, within the confines of the moderation of course :-)
I dont remember many of the old names from the BR although I followed Zero's name changes for some reason.
>>retired grumpy young stay at home househusband<<
You rang M'Lord?

Lets call it a hobby that pays :-) I have a couple of other incomes now, spreading me bets.

And then I met you lot.
"And then I met you lot."
"Us lot" are pretty much the same lot you used to meet on HJ (allegedly).
I reckon we should all change to Spartacus.
Yes exactly. I was fine till i met you lot.
