It's a good thing he didn't sing 'Melting Pot' by Blue Mink. It was an anti-racist song that refered to 'yellow chinkies'.

One of the memorable Private Eye covers of the era was about some tyrannical Japanese politician flying to Europe, with the caption "There's nasty nip in the air". Something like that anyway...

Oh, and plenty of current rap songs use a word which sounds like n*****s to me. In fact it is. Try Cee Lo Green, Forget Me for one. Wouldn't be tolerate if a whitey sung it.

The problem with this sort of thing is that it makes it harder to be inclusive because one becomes frightened of accidently offending and therefore being subject to either a criminal or civil sanction!

I agree Zero, rubbish. But the possibility that some jumped-up Chinese troublemaker would take offence wouldn't put me off singing it if I wanted to.
The Chinese are the heirs to what may well be the most ancient uninterrupted civilization on earth. How could those two - a mother and son I believe - have jumped on this phoney racism-allegation bandwagon, like moronic Muslims claiming to be offended by crosses or the smell of bacon in a Christian, pork-gobbling country they are living in?
