Glad its not a cross(ed) thread.
 Milestone. - Armel Coussine
Or a left-hand one like the union threads on calor gas bottles and, madly, the left-side wheel nuts on fifties Rolls-Royces.

And Bedford CF twin wheel vans.

And the RH rear hub nut on KIA Prides.

Are you sure? It is usually the near side of any vehicle that has the left handed threads if they are used.
 Milestone. - bathtub tom
Yup!

It's a taper roller bearing. The first time I checked the rear brakes I ruined the bearing, over-tightening it, trying to get it off. I'd only previously seen a LH thread on the LH side of vehicles.

I bow to your superior knowledge. :-)
 Milestone. - bathtub tom
Not superior, just learnt the hard way.
 Milestone. - Old Navy
I have suffered the hard way too. Often it was that or the Haynes manual. Oh the joys of this interweb thingy, these youngsters have no idea, every answer at your fingertips, without even leaving your armchair.

Small claim to fame;
I met 'Mick' Burt (Chas n Dave's drummer) a few times, as I used to work with his son Tony...

Dave retired in 2009 leaving Chas on his Toblerone.

But they are back together for a final tour.

I reckon they will have more comebacks than Sinatra.

Seen them on the pitch at the Lane a few times.

Walthamstow's finest, and genuine Spurs - I think.

Back in the 80's, I used to tune the cars belonging to the security staff at london weekend telly and they would get me and the missus tickets to see various shows there,

We used to enjoy Chas and Dave, Russ Abbot, Peters and Lee, Jim Davidson, Clapton, Huniford etc.

What really opened my eyes though, was how sooooo many alcoholics could carry out a days work!
 Milestone. - Zero
you *liked* Peters & lee??????
