About 6 houses down, woman about our age, good freind of SWM. Early morning banging on the front door last week. She and hubby still in bed so she staggers down to find about 12 ' suits ' on the doorstep armed with a warrant to search house and arrest son.
So far so good.
Son had already gone to work so was recalled.
The visitors were from the Border Agency and had a Wildlife expert, complete in tweeds and plus fours, with them.
Son spends half the year in Thailand and has a girlfriend there. It turned out that a parcel from her had been intercepted at a regional airport. It contained a nice silk scarf for the lad.....It also contained a dozen baby turtles/tortoises......live .
Son was at school with my lad, but a couple of years younger. He was always into snakes and lizards, having at one time a large python and various corn snakes, etc.
They turned the house over pretty well and left with the prisoner. I suppose he will deny all knowledge of the parcel being sent but I'll be interested to see how things pan out.
Interesting business.

Thanks Henry...I was looking at the wrong area news....I beleive they came in at Bristol Airport. Obviously the same case. I wouldn't be surprised if he is well implicated.
Never a favourite of mine and we see little of him nowadays.
Proving his part in it may be a different matter.

It was Valentines's Day, so was meant to be a surprise.
I didn't get any turtles on the 14th, even dead ones. Perhaps I'm the wrong sort of age for anyone to care that much.

I quite like the sugar coated or chocolate dipped baby turtles.
