mmm just updated the server from php 5.3.3 to 5.3.5 and restarted the web server. That might have something to do with it. Maybe it lost the old session and needs you to log out in and then in? Reply to this message | Report message

Try logging out and back in. Has this fixed it now? I have turned off the proxy cache for now which seems to have sorted it on the brief test that I have done. The nginx proxy got updated in the pile of updates the server did and I think they have introduced something which has caused the reading and writing of cookies to get cached from the server. Ok finally fixed the proxy server. For those who are interested, they changed the way nginx works : From forum.nginx.org/read.php?2,126312 "In 0.7.67 nginx strips Set-Cookie headers by default on all responses served with proxy_cache switched on. You may change this with proxy_pass_header directive (note that this will cause *cached* responses to return Set-Cookie header as well, you have to make sure your backend doesn't return personal cookies on cacheable responses). Note that in 0.8.44 behaviour was changed to something considered more natural. As of 0.8.44 nginx no longer caches responses with Set-Cookie header and doesn't strip this header with cache turned on (unless you instruct it to do so with proxy_hide_header and proxy_ignore_headers)." Our update moved from 0.8.37 to 0.8.53. Basically they more or less reversed the way it works. There wasn't much in the documentation as it is Russian software and the info is quite terse. As you can see from the above they say you have to make sure the backend doesn't return personal cookies - which of course it was. Anyway it's just as well the guy who got cached was PR and not a mod! Imagine letting you all loose with that privilege! Reply to this message | Report message
