Have you tried dryer balls, and are they effective? Are some makes better than others? My thoughts are that they will damage the clothes and the dryer drum.

They work if you think they work! This link leads to a very long review which notes that a test was done and the report is dated before the date of the test!

we use dryer balls & the girl that does the irioning moans when we haven't put the balls in so they must work LOL but they do clonk about.
used them about 5 years or so & never had a problem with the dryer.
