Wife once decided we should "try" ballroom dancing. There was a bit of a fad at work and a few of us went along. We weren't too bad in a straight line but we couldn't do corners. I suppose we'd have been ok if the room was big enough. Though we'd have ended up a long way away from the bar.

SWMBO and I tried dance lessons. My feet and shins ended up very bruised, but what finished it for me was when she managed to poke a finger in my eye - I couldn't drive home!

We had trad dancing lessons in PE leading up to the annual Christmas dance at our grammar school in the 70s. It was a mixed school so that event was one of the few legit chances to cop a feel at close quarters.
Didn`t the Minstrel show get axed because of some p.c law that stopped people/performers blacking -up as Negroes as it was suppposed to be insulting to them? And weren`t "Gollies" removed from jam-jars because of the same?
