Here's my starter for 10 - we used to watch this program *religiously* back in the mists of time, we'd jump in the Capri, zoom down to the local Chinese take-away, and stuff our faces while watching ... The Water Margin.

This is the one! Classic theme music to the extent that it almost surpasses the programme.

That has to be one of the best openings of any tv series. Book him Dano. (dano died last month!)
I love old TV series.
This is my current favourite, but there are so many,

Lovely old theme music (and progs) part of my DNA really, like Golden Virginia & Rizla's :(

Ah, the World of Sport. Never has so much been promised (log rolling, cliff diving, Eric Morecambe) and so little delivered (Queen of the South - nil. Wolverhampton Wanderers - nil).
An excellent hummable theme is

The worst theme ever written, notwithstanding the appeal of a delightful cushion called Humphrey and "in-her-day-delectable-but-by-criminey-look-at-her-now" Louise Hall-Taylor is undoubtedly

This is the music my current wife and I walked down the aisle to.
Cracking tv show to boot.

UFO was a tastibar programme, and I'm so glad to see that by 1980 all men in authority will be wearing string vests.

Did we *really* watch all this stuff (yea!)
No wonder that years ago they wrote tomes like War and Peace, King Henry IV parts 1 & 2 etc.
No telly, see.

You've got to be really, really old and ancient to remember this ~

I don't :-D
If anyone knows of a machine that will send me back to when this program was made please post it to me, and I will refund the p&p.

I had some very BBD feelings over Dora when I was a lad - a whole 10 years older than me she is...

She's still about, thankfully ~ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gillian_Blake

>>I know :-)<<
Still fancy her then? or has she grown fat & bald.

Pull the other one :-D

>> I've always had 'the hots' for Jenny Agutter in Logans Run.
That's a great film, a bit tacky now, but the ideas were good. That music sounds like it should be in a '20 greatest power ballads of all time' CD.
|
>>That's a great film, a bit tacky now, but the ideas were good<<
I've watched Logans Run again and again over the years, I must see through the tackiness somehow,
why I even bought The Martian Chronicles on DVD.
:~}

I'm not running it down, I'm just comparing it to todays superslick blockbusters. I always watch it if I have the opportunity. Can't get enough of Jenny Agutter, like you, especially in that half dressed garb, swoon :-}

You're not un-like me in that corax, our Jenny has 'A Plaice by The Sea' here in Cornwall btw,
The last I heard, she sold a spread down at The Lizard for c£1m.

The film was on the box the other night, caught the credits - the male lead, Michael York, was badly cast with his strange plummy accent (I could never get on with it) Ms Agutter was perfect of course - bits filmed in Fort Worth..

...I had some very BBD feelings over Dora when I was a lad...
Perhaps you'd like to talk about those feelings on the Follyfoot forum:

So this thread has come down to thinking man's crumpet.
I'm going before someone mentions Joanna Lumley.

Slightly more recent. Greta Scacchi, she was in an episode of Bergerac amongst other things ............................

If we are into thinking mans crumpet, I wouldnt mind licking the flour off Nigela Lawsons nose.

Ya know ... I never realised just how good that theme music was before now,
I had a Zephyr 4 like that in the mid 70's, cream with Leopard skin (effect) seat covers :~}

As something of a 'bluenose' that tune has a special resonance to me...

They used Guzzis in some series - California would suit them to the degree, no damp to rust them and foul up the electrics....I had a Kwaker 750 in 1990
|
Mine was only a Z400J.
But is looked and sounded similar to the bigger bikes!
www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/Gallery/Kawasaki%20Z400J%2080.jpg
|
Mine was a rather asthmatic GT750 although a 4 into 1 exhaust might have made a tad smoother..
|
I had mine from new.
peach of a bike, although some said they were under powered.
I found it would pull from just over tickover in top.... and topped out at (an indicated) 120mph.....

I've 'fessed to a liking for this one before
www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQHB1zd1f5M&feature=related (Robinson Crusoe)
the side bar then reminded me of another

As an adult the young lady awakened by the horse looks quite interesting!! But my memory of the original prog is watching at at around 10 with a girl of 8 I was keen on at the time.
Wonder where Rachel is now!!!
